2. In short
This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics and loads nothing from third parties. Fonts are served locally from this server. I only process personal data when you write to me through the contact form, and in the technically necessary server logs.
3. No cookies, only session storage
This site sets no cookies. For two convenience features it uses your browser's session storage: it remembers that you closed the "No cookies" note and which section you were on when switching language. These entries never leave your browser and are deleted when you close the tab.
4. Hosting and server logs
The website runs on a server operated by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). When you visit, the web server automatically logs your IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser and operating system. This is needed to run the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.
5. Contact form
If you use the contact form, I process your name, email address, subject and message to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual requests, otherwise (f)). To prevent abuse I also store a non-reversible hash of your IP address. The data is stored in a database on this server and forwarded to my GMX mailbox (1&1 Mail & Media GmbH, Montabaur, Germany) by email via the mail server of Hetzner Online GmbH (Gunzenhausen, Germany). I delete it once your request is closed and no legal retention period applies, at the latest after 12 months.
6. External links
This site links to my LinkedIn profile. Data is only sent to LinkedIn once you click that link; LinkedIn's privacy policy applies.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 15–21). A short email is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).
The German version is legally binding: Datenschutz.
